One of my favorite self-care activities is working out. But, I have to admit that I am not always motivated to work out. I love the way working out makes me feel and look, but I do not always enjoy getting out of bed early in the morning to exercise. If you are like me and sometimes lack the motivation to work out, these workout motivational quotes for women might be what you need to get started with a regular workout routine.
There are so many health benefits to regular exercise that extend past reaching your fitness goals. In addition to physical fitness, working out is good for your mental health. If you want to be the best version of yourself, exercise is essential. Take care of your body and mind by exercising consistently.

Why can’t I motivate myself to exercise?
The Daily Burn attributes the lack of motivation to exercise to the glorification of activities like going to brunch with the girls. Of course, it sounds way more fun to go eat with your friends than it does to go to the gym. But, if you want a healthy body, you have to exercise. Additionally, there are other influences that make exercise seem like the worst option. Face it, compared to other options (diet pills, surgery, etc.) exercise yields slow progress and can be discouraging to those seeking fast results.
Even if you are not on a fitness journey, you still need to exercise. Physical activity is beneficial to your body and mind. But you know this already, right? So why is it so hard to get motivated to work out?
- Scrolling social media is much more exciting.
- It takes too long for you to see your weight loss.
- You are tired after a long day of working and running errands.
- There are so many great shows on television.
- You have so many other chores to complete when you get home from work.
- Your children have extracurricular activities that take up most of your evenings.
- Exercising takes you out of your comfort zone.
- Lack of desire.
- Working out is hard work.
- Lack of commitment.

Do inspirational workout quotes really work?
On Fastcompany.com, Dr. Jonathan Fader, founder of the Union Square Practice in New York City writes, “Obviously, people who tend to feel inspired by motivational quotes are going to find them more resonant than those who don’t find simple phrases and sayings to be particularly meaningful.” Even the best fitness quotes won’t work for you if you do not have a positive attitude and open your mind to the power of inspirational quotes.
Once you accept that you want to live a healthy lifestyle, these quotes can help push you to the next level.
