Last week, I couldn’t have found Senoia, Georgia o Last week, I couldn’t have found Senoia, Georgia on a map if you paid me. 😅 #visitnewnancoweta Today? I’m a little obsessed. Turns out this tiny town about 25 miles south of Atlanta has been hiding in plain sight on my screen for years. Senoia has been the backdrop for Driving Miss Daisy, Sweet Home Alabama, the 2011 Footloose remake, Drop Dead Diva, and of course The Walking Dead. Main Street has plaques set into the red brick sidewalks marking everything that’s been filmed there. So now Senoia is officially on my list of faves. Have you been? One of my first stops in any small town? A library One of my first stops in any small town? A library (or a bookstore). 📚 The Newnan Carnegie Library in Newnan, Georgia made my English teacher heart smile. Like more than 2,500 libraries around the world, it was made possible by Andrew Carnegie, who believed knowledge should be free to everyone. Communities that accepted his gift had to keep the doors open to the public and support the library for the long haul, which helped shape the public library system we know and love today. You can see that spirit in the architecture. Carnegie libraries were designed with grand entrances you climb to enter (a nod to rising through learning), big windows that let the light pour in, and open shelves so everyday people could browse for themselves. Libraries tell you so much about a town. They're where stories are shared, kids discover their first favorite book, and neighbors connect. What’s your favorite library?
