Why I Blog
When I tell people that I am a blogger, their first question is usually, “Why?” After several times of being asked this question (and stumbling through my response), I decided to put some thought into why I actually do this. Here’s what I came up with:
- To tell my story…and to document it.
Everyone has a story. Everyone’s story is different. You can learn so much about a person, and even about yourself, by listening to (or reading) someone’s story. There are so many things in my life that I am proud of; but, there’s probably just as many things that I’m not so proud of. Nonetheless, the story is mine. Uniquely mine. I blog to tell my story and to have it documented so that I can look back on it, reflect, and grow.
- To inspire and encourage other people.
Remember what I said about reflecting and growing? I hope that through my blog, others will be inspired to use their obstacles as stepping stones. I want them to use their disappointments as bouncing boards. I want people to use my blog as a space to gain the inspiration and courage needed to be the best version of themselves. By telling my own story and sharing my experiences and observations, I hope that I can somehow help others.
- To have fun and be happy.
I love to write. Writing is fun for me. Writing makes me happy. With all of the negative things that are happening in our world right now, I’m thankful that I have found a way to bring joy to my life. Blogging is a big part of my happiness.
There are so many other reasons that I enjoy blogging. Through blogging, I have made connections with people that I probably wouldn’t have connected with otherwise. I have connected with other bloggers and writers and it’s been great sharing this journey with them.
