10 Habits of Self-Care for Busy Women
Are you a woman juggling work, family, and home? Kudos to you for displaying utter strength. However, in your busy schedule, do you ever make time for yourself? I am afraid to hear what your answer to this question might be. Many of us are so guilty of taking care of everything and everyone around us, but failing to take a moment to take care of ourselves. I want to share some habits of self-care for busy women that will help you prioritize yourself.
We have all been there before. Life can be a rat race, causing us to put our own self-care on the back burner. We don’t realize the toll that it takes on our health until we get a wake-up call in the form of fatigue and sometimes worse–other medical issues. Has this ever happened to you? We all know the importance of self-care, though. But, knowing the importance of self-care and not taking the time to actually do it can be detrimental to our physical and mental health.

10 Habits of Self-Care for Busy Women
Let’s take some time to discuss 10 habits of self-care you should adopt that will help you put yourself first. These habits will fit in even the busiest Erin Condren Life Planner.
1. Observe a morning routine
Take time for yourself every morning. Go for a walk or run. Spend time in serenity and meditate. You might also dedicate some time for a workout. Sometimes, I use this time to just sit in silence before everyone else in the house wakes up. However you choose to spend it, just make sure to do it! It can be as little as fifteen minutes.
You could also use this time to focus on your skin. Here is my simple, four-step morning skincare routine.

2. Eat healthy foods (more often)
Listen, I’m not pointing fingers here. I love a slice of cheesecake or a bag of chips just like the next girl. But, we have to remember that the food we consume affects our health significantly. If you eat healthy foods more often than not, you will notice a difference in your overall health. Invest time in planning and prepping better meals, and your body will thank you!
3. Reward yourself
I am pretty sure a boss woman like yourself works incredibly hard. Reward yourself for the insane amount of hard work that you do. Go for coffee or buy something you have been longing for. You can even treat yourself to a manicure, pedicure, in fact, a whole spa day. Whatever you choose to do, just celebrate yourself every once in a while. You deserve it!

4. Take a break
Don’t shy from taking a break when you need it. Overworking yourself will result in extreme exhaustion and deteriorated mental and physical health. You’re no good to anybody if you’re overworked and tired. Step away for a moment or even a day or two whenever you feel completely overwhelmed. If you have paid time off work, take it.

5. Choose your company wisely
If you are surrounded by arrogant people who don’t think twice before bullying others, you will be disturbed. Choose to be around positive people who uplift you. Girl, you deserve the best…and that includes company!
6. Laugh heartily at least once a day
You know that saying, laughter is the best medicine? I believe it to be true. Laughter not only decreases stress hormones, but it also increases immune cells. Whether it’s watching your favorite television show or talking with your most comical friend, find a way to laugh at least one time a day.

7. Start a journal
Writing is therapeutic. Keep a journal with you and pen down your thoughts whenever you want. Self-care requires you to clear your mind of overwhelming thoughts.
8. Do something fun
When was the last time that you did something that gave you joy? Probably not recently, but I sure hope so! Remember to do something that you enjoy. Turn up the music and dance your heart out. Play a game, attend a festival, or watch a movie. Find something that you find enjoyable to do every now and then.

9. Take a bubble bath
After a tiring day, relax by taking a bubble bath. It heals your mind and detoxifies your skin.* Bubble baths also soothe your sore muscles and improve blood circulation in your body.
10. Get the proper amount of sleep
I definitely don’t lead by example on this one, but make an effort to put your phone and laptop away, and get a good night’s sleep. Sleep deprivation is a key culprit in weak health. You should strive for 7-9 hours of sleep each night.
Well, that’s a wrap. Now, you are well aware of helpful self-care tips. Try following at least some of them in an effort to take better care of yourself. You would never let your phone battery get too low, right? So, don’t let it happen to you either.
Remember: Self-care is a priority, not luxury. Take care of you!

Cherith.thank you. I needed this, especially during this pandemic and being an essential worker
Don’t forget about YOU in the midst of all this! I know it’s easier said than done. Find something that is specifically for YOU and carve out time to do it. For me, it’s my morning exercise. I hate getting up at 5, but no one else is up and it’s quiet and it’s my ME time. I do that five days per week and it’s the best gift I’ve ever given myself! I pray, I cry, I do whatever I need to do and then I carry on with my day!
Love this post! I am a self-care blogger and I loved your suggestion to laugh heartily once a day! What a good way to increase your positivity and take life a little less seriously!
Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I’m so glad you enjoyed this post. I’m always smiling and laughing. I’m very intentional about finding something to laugh about daily!
