I’m always on the lookout for productive, inspiring spaces to work. So I was excited when I had the opportunity to try out Forge Birmingham, a coworking space. I must say, it exceeded my expectations and I’ll definitely be going back.

One of the first things that stood out to me about Forge Birmingham was its fantastic location. Situated in downtown Birmingham, the space is incredibly accessible.
The Pizitz Building is a well-known landmark, and parking is a breeze with plenty of spaces just across the street. Finding a coworking space with such easy access is rare, so this is an ideal option for anyone who needs to be productive without the added stress of parking headaches.
Welcoming Atmosphere & Personal Touch
Upon arriving at Forge, I had the pleasure of meeting Kim Lee, the founder of the space. Kim is not only incredibly kind and welcoming, but she also took the time to give me a personalized tour of the facilities.
She walked me through the different workspaces and explained how the space is designed to foster collaboration among members while maintaining a supportive environment for individual work. It’s clear that Forge isn’t just a place to work—it’s a community of professionals dedicated to helping one another succeed.
What struck me most during our conversation was Kim’s passion for creating a space that promotes both quality of life and better health. She shared how Forge actively encourages Forge members to balance work and well-being, making it a place where mental clarity and physical wellness are equally prioritized. I knew then, I was in the right place.

The diversity of workspaces available at Forge Coworking Space is truly impressive. Whether you prefer working quietly at a desk, collaborating in open areas, or having access to private conference rooms, Forge has something for everyone.
I found the spaces to be spacious and thoughtfully designed with lots of natural light, which helped me to focus and get things done. (I seriously got so much work done that day!) And no matter where I chose to sit, I was never far away from an outlet so I could keep my devices charged.
There are cozy corners perfect for brainstorming or casual meetings, and more formal rooms equipped with whiteboards for structured, goal-oriented discussions. There are also some super cute (and soundproof) phone booths that are great for conference calls and private meetings.
On-Site Amenities & Convenient Lunch Options
One of the best perks of working at Forge is the array of on-site amenities. As someone who doesn’t like to waste time, having snacks and drinks readily available was a huge plus. It’s always nice to have that mid-afternoon pick-me-up while staying focused on your work.
But what really stood out to me were the lunch options downstairs. You can find a quick snack or a full meal right downstairs in the food hall in the Pizitz Building. It’s so easy to grab a bite without having to leave the building.
Free Friday: A Unique Opportunity to Try Forge for Free
One of the best experiences I had at Forge Birmingham was during their Free Friday event, which they host once a month. I was able to come in and try out the space for free, even though I had already purchased a pass for the day. (I guess that means I just have to go back again soon!)
This is such a generous opportunity for anyone curious about coworking spaces but unsure if it’s the right fit for their needs. It speaks to the welcoming, community-oriented nature of Forge. They truly want you to feel comfortable before committing to a membership.
