My Amazon Purchases: Quarantine Edition
At this point, I think you can go ahead and say that I’m addicted to Amazon. Whenever I’m shopping for pretty much anything, it’s one of the first places I check. Over the quarantine, I spent lots of time on Amazon. I was on first-name basis with the delivery folks and I’ve been unable to confirm, but I’m almost positive that I got a few eye rolls on the days when I had multiple packages that caused them to have to make several trips back and forth to the truck.
I’ve gotten pretty good at the speeches that I recite to Hubs when he looks at me and asks, “Did you really need <such and such item>?” In fact, before I even click the “place your order” button, I have already developed a perfectly reasonable explanation for why I needed to purchase the item(s) in the cart.

Hakuna Matata T-Shirts
I bought these shirts for a trip to Walt Disney World. Typing this brings a tear to my eye because it reminds me of how close we were to seeing The Mouse. We drove down to Disney for our trip just as news was beginning to break about how rapidly COVID-19 was spreading. We made it to our hotel and settled down for the evening and kept getting notifications on our phones about canceled events and places closing. By the next morning, more and more big events were being canceled, which really made me nervous. First, it was the NCAA basketball tournament, then some NBA games. That was enough to let me know that things were getting serious. So, we packed our bags and headed back home. On the way home, we received notification that my son’s university was canceling face-to-face classes and requiring them to move out of the dorms. But hey, “Hukuna Matata,” right?
Mac Sports Collapsible Folding Outdoor Utility Wagon
I’ve noticed these when I go to volleyball tournaments and other kid/family events. But, it wasn’t until a friend of mine helped me prepare for a party that I really saw the convenience of this item and how much I needed to own one of these myself. It’s so handy and really helpful when you are moving items from one place to another. I don’t know how I’ve gone so long without one.
Just Dance 2019 Wii Standard Edition
I bought this to encourage more movement amongst my family because we had become quite sedentary during the quarantine. I was desperately trying to find fun things to keep my family entertained during this time of uncertainty. However, I will say that we’ve only used this a couple of times, even though we own several previous editions of this game.
Black Elderberry Capsules 1000mg
Do I even need to explain why I bought these? With the rise of COVID-19 cases across the nation, I searched for whatever I could find that could build my family’s immunity to this virus. Needless to say, I didn’t receive much pushback about this purchase. We have all been trying to establish a regiment that includes a mix of supplements, exercise, and increased hygiene to help protect us from coronavirus.
17th Birthday Decorations – Rose Gold
I purchased this as I searched for a unique way to celebrate my daughter’s birthday since it fell when most entertainment venues were closed. We had so much fun putting this kit together and then doing a photo shoot to celebrate the birthday girl! Fun times! (Oh, and since the purchase was for baby girl, Hubs didn’t have much to say about it either! #spoiledrotten)
Hautton Electric Balloon Pump
Who was going to blow up all of the balloons for the birthday party kit without this electric pump? Next item, please!
USB Omnidirectional Computer Microphone
An increase to the time on quarantine meant an increase in Zoom meetings. I purchased this microphone to improve the audio quality for my meetings and videos. This was a great purchase! I also use it for recording my podcast and for creating other videos.
Kai Touch N Brow Razors
This is another item that needs no explanation. Since I couldn’t get to the brow bar, I had to take matters into my own hands! I couldn’t stand the Bert from Sesame Street look any longer (I love Bert, by the way!) And luckily, thanks to YouTube, I didn’t look like Ernie afterwards!
Writing Computer Desk
Extended school and work closures left my family scrambling for places for everyone to work and learn remotely. We learned quickly that sharing spaces was not going to be very productive for us. So, the kids had to make workspaces in their rooms. I purchased this desk to put in my daughter’s room. It was super easy to assemble and it serves it’s intended purpose. I’m so glad that I purchased this instead of a bulky desk that would take up lots of space.
Sweet Sweat Waist Trimmer
I was determined to emerge from the quarantine fitter than when I entered it. This item has helped me to reach my goals! I use it when I work out and I can tell the difference in the amount that I sweat. If you’re like me, you equate your workout’s quality to the amount that you sweat. Don’t ask me to make it make sense because I can’t. LOL. I just don’t feel like I’ve worked out enough if I’m not sweating. This product definitely produces the sweat I need to make me feel accomplished.
These are just a few of my Amazon purchases during the quarantine. As you can see, I had perfectly good reasons for purchasing each item on the list! LOL
