A few months ago, I had the honor of speaking to the Junior League of Birmingham about my journey from blog to book.

Tonight, the conversation shifted. This time, we talked about self-care.

Now listen, I knew better than to get in front of a room full of dynamic, accomplished women and try to tell them the “how” of self-care. I mean, we know what to do, right? We’ve read the lists. We’ve bought the candles. We’ve saved the quotes. 😉

So instead, I offered a different angle.

What if self-care isn’t always something extra you have to add to your life…
What if it’s found in using the time, place, and talent you already have? What if it’s serving in the capacity that truly fills your cup?

That’s exactly what I’ve done with @secretbirminghambook

Writing it stretched me, restored me, and reminded me that caring for yourself can look like honoring your gifts. Even when life is full.

So grateful for the space to share, reflect, and grow alongside such an incredible group of women.
