I could not WAIT for a break in my schedule so I could get my hands on a copy of this week’s issue of @birminghamtimes

And I also couldn’t wait for the next unsuspecting stranger to walk by so I could ask them to take a picture of me with it! 🫣

Why do you need a copy? In addition to a fun feature on being a tourist in your own town, I also share my top destinations for exploring Black history.

Looking for New York bagels but you live in the south? Head to SDK’s Cafe & Coffee in Visit Henry County, GA.

As much as I tried to debunk the myth that NY bagels taste better, I couldn’t. These things were absolutely something else. The outside had this perfect, glossy chew — not too hard, not too soft.

And the inside? Dense, doughy, and slightly chewy.

New York wins this one. I’m not even mad about it.
