Sweet Home Alabama is a vibe!

I had the chance to attend the Alabama Catfish Trail Kickoff, where I got a taste of why Alabama is known for serving up some of the best farm-raised catfish in the country!

I had catfish from Ezell’s Fish Camp, Old Greenbrier Restaurant, and The Ark along with some craft beer from Cahaba Brewing.

I left full, happy, and ready to get on the road to taste catfish from all over the state!

What’s better than one book award? Two! 🎉🥉

I’m so excited to share that @secretbirminghambook has been named a Bronze Medalist in the South – Non-Fiction category of the Independent Publisher Book Awards (IPPYs)!

The IPPY Awards recognize excellence in independent publishing across more than 100 categories, celebrating outstanding books in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, eBooks, and more. Earning an IPPY Award is a meaningful honor that brings national recognition, credibility, and greater visibility to books that might otherwise fly under the radar.

To think that a book inspired by Birmingham’s hidden history, quirky landmarks, and fascinating stories is being recognized on a national stage is incredibly humbling.

Before this trip, I knew Clarksville was home to Austin Peay State University, but I had no idea how much there was to explore. From a fascinating cave and interactive museums to a charming downtown and beautiful river views, it completely exceeded my expectations.
